Titanium dioxide (titanium dioxide), is an important inorganic chemical pigment, the main component is titanium dioxide. The production process of titanium dioxide has two process routes: sulfuric acid method and chlorination method. [1] It has important uses in paint, ink, paper, plastic and rubber, chemical fiber, ceramics and other industries.
The main application areas of titanium dioxide: coatings, plastics, printing ink, paper, of which 60% of coatings, 20% of plastics, paper 14%, and others (including cosmetics, chemical fibers, electronics, ceramics, enamel, welding rods, alloys, glass, and other fields) accounted for 6%.
Titanium dioxide in the rubber industry both as a coloring agent, but also has a reinforcing, anti-aging, filling effect. Add titanium dioxide in white and colored rubber products, under sunlight, sunlight resistance, no cracking, no discoloration, stretching rate and acid and alkali resistance. Titanium dioxide for rubber, mainly used in automobile tires and rubber shoes, rubber flooring, gloves, sports equipment, etc., generally titanium-acute type. But for automobile tire production, often adding a certain amount of rutile products to enhance the ozone and UV resistance.
Titanium dioxide is also increasingly widely used in cosmetics. Because titanium dioxide is non-toxic, far superior to lead white, a variety of powder almost all use titanium dioxide to replace lead white and zinc white. Powder in only 5% -8% of the titanium dioxide can be added to get a permanent white, so that the spice is more slippery, adhesion, absorption and covering power. In water powder and cold cream titanium dioxide can weaken the greasy and transparent feeling. Various other fragrances, sunscreen, soap flakes, white soap and toothpaste can also be used in titanium dioxide.
